How Listing Tiers Work
Unclaimed Listing (Free, Baseline Presence)
Every business may appear on hocha.town, even without an account. This ensures the directory remains open and complete.
- Basic listing (name, category, general location)
- Appears in search results and map views (non-priority)
- Included in baseline AI trip planner results (non-priority)
- Information may be limited or auto-generated
- No direct control over listing fields
- No analytics, enhancements, or promotional placement
Claimed Listing — $4.99 per listing per month
One plan. Every paying listing gets exactly the same treatment — there is no higher tier to outbid you.
- Claim and manage your listing
- Edit and maintain all core details, hours, and contact info
- Replace auto-generated information with owner-provided content
- Photos, video, highlights, and owner notes
- Digital guest guidebook with a public link you can share
- Post events and push special offers to travelers
- Grouped above unclaimed listings when browsing a category, and eligible for the homepage features
- Performance analytics — views, clicks, and where traffic comes from
What it does not buy: your position in search results, or how the AI trip planner ranks you. Those two ignore payment entirely — see below. We also feature places editorially because they are worth knowing about, paying or not, so a featured listing is not proof anyone bought it.

- Request removal of a listing
- Report inaccurate or harmful information
- Verify permanent closure

How AI Recommendations Work
Our Trip Planner matches travelers to places based on what they asked for. Every business can appear in the results, including unclaimed ones.
Paying does not change your score. The scorer never reads whether a listing is featured or claimed — it reads the listing itself. The same is true of search: paid placement applies to category browsing and the homepage, and nowhere else.
What claiming changes is the data. Matching runs on your description, tags, highlights and owner notes, so a listing with real amenities, a pet policy and current details simply has more that can match a traveler's question. That is a better position earned by better information, not by payment — an unclaimed listing with good data will outrank a paid one with thin data.
