Accessibility

Last reviewed: October 15, 2026

This statement covers the hocha.town website. It explains the standard we are working toward, where the site stands today, what we know does not work well yet, and how to tell us about a barrier.

Our commitment

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. Our goal is for people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, screen magnification, voice control, or other assistive technology to be able to find listings, events, road conditions, and contact information on this site.

Conformance status

Partially conformant. An independent audit is scheduled.

"Partially conformant" means some parts of the site do not yet fully meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We run automated accessibility checks (axe-core) against key pages, including the home page, events, deals, traffic, privacy, contact, and sign-in pages. Automated tools find only some types of problems, so these checks are not a substitute for the independent audit.

Recent changes include:

  • A "Skip to main content" link at the start of every page for keyboard users.
  • Text alternatives on images, with decorative images hidden from screen readers.
  • Photo galleries now open with a keyboard, and header controls that are hidden on scroll are skipped by the Tab key and screen readers.
  • Darker text colors where automated checks found contrast below the WCAG minimum.

Known limitations

These are the issues we know about. We are working on them.

  • Color contrast. Automated checks still find some small text and badges with color contrast below the WCAG minimum, including parts of the pricing cards on the Get listed page.
  • Third-party maps and widgets. Some content comes from other companies and runs inside their own frames or scripts, which we do not control. This includes the Stay22 lodging map and booking widgets and Apple Maps. These may not be fully accessible.
  • Event flyers shown as images. Some events include a flyer image. The event name, date, time, and place are also shown as text on the event page, but other details on a flyer may only appear in the image.
  • Listing photos and descriptions. Photos and text for businesses, cabins, and events are often supplied by owners and organizers. Photo descriptions are based on the listing name and may not describe what each photo shows.
  • Mobile apps. This statement covers the website. Our mobile apps are part of the planned audit but have not yet been reviewed against WCAG.

If something on the site is hard to use, please tell us. We will work with you to provide the information another way, such as by email.

Feedback and contact

To report an accessibility barrier or ask for information in another format, use our contact form or email info@hocha.town. Please include the page address and a short description of the problem, and the assistive technology you use if you are comfortable sharing it.

We will respond within 5 business days.
